The Growing Need for Memory Care


Around 300,000 people are diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease each year. It is estimated that 5.3 million people in the U.S. currently have Alzheimer’s disease; that is 10% of people over 65 and almost 50% of people over 85. Fourteen million people are projected to have it in the year 2050. In addition to the huge impact Alzheimer’s has on the aging population, many others are diagnosed with other forms of dementia at ever increasing rates. It is no surprise that the segment of the population with the highest percentage of dementia and Alzheimer’s growth is the elderly.

 

Memory Care Management and Consulting believes the memory care management market is under-served and that demand will increase faster than supply.
